I've recently been reading alot and kind of exploring the idea of rest, like in a biblical sense. Hebrews 4 is good, and I have always found it intresting that our God desires to give us rest, and that He desires to serve us. I think I have always struggled with serving God in the right way. Paul told the Athenians "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. How do you balance the command to serve and the command to rest.

So haven't posted in a while. so i'd like to here here it go... things have been kinda crazy lately. Kate is going out of town on Sunday so I am dreading that. Otherwise things are well. I have been leading three diffrent small groups two at UAMS and one at UALR. It has been really great. I feel like this type of ministry suits me and my personality/gifts. It's so cool to be able to do something you love. Also thought I would post a link to an article as that is becoming a habit...

Hey all, just wanted to let you that God is still sovereign in all this. Hebrews 1 tells us that God revealed Himself in His Son Jesus Christ. That all that Jesus said, did, taught and gave is a completely accurate representation of who God is. That doesn't change because of our circumstances. God is still full of compassion. He is still a rebel, and he is still in control of the wind and water. All of this is being expressed through the response of God's people during this devastating disaster. If you guys are interested in serving and loving somebody, check out metro's website for opportunities.
